Spanish Language and Culture (4)

Description

According to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), this course covers B1.2 level. The aim of this subject is to reinforce the independent use of the language. The course will help to improve the communication skills in different circumstances, to develop the ability to understand complex texts and to strengthen the competence of expressing students‘ own ideas on a wide range of subjects.

Course content

Understanding different types of text: advertising, personal, business and academic messages. Comprehension of information texts. Practical information about travel, news, newspapers, biographies, job offers. Travel brochures, links, recipes, tips and literatury texts. Different types of letters. Audio advertising, announcements, personal experiences. Listening to television and radio programmes and comprehension. Informal and formal communication between two or more people. Text writitng: letters, messages, descriptions. Expression opinions in writing. Grammar: Gramatika: El Subjuntivo, Condicional simple, La voz pasiva, La oración indirecta, Inserciones, Oraciones simples y oraciones subordinadas sustantivas, de relativo, adjetivas y adverbiales, Expresiones idiom?ticas, Acentuación. Participate in the conversation, express opinions and tell about your experiences. An overview of the most important historical events of Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries in the past (XVI-XIX) and present (XX-XXI centuries). Using various types of monolingual and bilingual Spanish-Lithuanian-Spanish dictionaries, collect and summarize material about Spanish culture, politics, economics and art.

Assesment Criteria

Knowledge is assessed according to the ten-point system: 10: Excellent, exceptional knowledge and skills, 94-100% correct answers. 9: Strong, good knowledge and skills, 85-93% of correct answers. 8: Above average knowledge and skills, 75-84% of correct answers. 7: Average knowledge and skills, 65-74% of correct answers. 6: Satisfactory knowledge and skills, 55-64% correct answers. 5: Knowledge and skills meet the minimum requirements, 45-63% of correct answers. 0-4: Knowledge and skills do not meet the minimum requirements, less than 44% of correct answers.
