Quality Management Systems

Description

The aim of the course is to study the theoretical and practical backgrounds of quality management (QM). In this course students acquire the basic knowledge of QM; they learn to apply QM methods according to organization needs, to evaluate processes in QM aspect, establish, improve and audit QM systems.

Aim of the course

To teach students to apply quality management methods in organizations, enhance the efficiency and results of the organization performance, improving processes in the organization.

Course content

1. QMS concept, genesis and prevalence 2. Principles of the QM, their identification and benefits 3. Elements of QMS and their interaction 4. QMS according to ISO 9001: 2015 requirements 5. Other standardized QMS 6. LEAN system and methods 7. Other quality management methods 8. Quality Cost Classification System 9. Internal Audit of QMS 10. Establishment of QMS Independent group work during all lectures and seminars 11. Presentation of independent group work

Assesment Criteria

The student recognizes and describes at least half of the quality management terms given, can explain at least half of the principles of quality management and indicate in which sections of the ISO 9001 standard they are implemented, correctly sets ISO 9001 requirements for at least half of the situations, correctly determines what category of quality cost the organization has suffered at least in a half of the situations Student successfully identifies more than half of the core processes in the organization and correctly determines their sequence and interaction The student prepares a management audit plan by linking audit criteria with the elements of the object of the audit, elaborates a detailed audit questionnaire for at least one element of the audit object The student can set at least three quality management method selection criteria and select at least one quality management method that meets the needs of the organization The student prepares a plan for the implementation of the management system according to the specifics of the organization The student correctly assesses at least half of the given situations according to the indicated criteria The student, together with other members of the working group, prepares a public oral presentation of independent work that meets at least half of the requirements The student is able to formulate and justify his opinion Students are able to work in groups, communicate with others, take responsibility for individual goals.
