Neurolinguistic Language Teaching and Learning Methods
Description
The course presents an overview of different methods and techniques applying principles of neurolinguistic programming (NLP) in language teaching/learning. The students get acquainted with the origin and early development of these principles, the main patterns and scope, and discuss its applicability in language classrooms. Both advantages and criticism of these methods will be briefly surveyed and analysed. Different models of NLP will be investigated and their applicability in contemporary language classroom questioned. The course is based on interdisciplinary relationship between language teaching/learning and other fields, such as human psychology, biology, communication, education and others.
Aim of the course
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the overall process of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and its application in foreign language learning/teaching process. This is achieved by providing a critical review of the essential components of the NLP process as well as other relevant language education and psychological theories.
