Pedagogical Assistant Practice

Description

During the Practice of teacher assistant, a student considering the current needs and the situation at school acts as an assistant to the teacher in various teacher's activities accumulating practical experience in professional activity and applying knowledge acquired during the studies in own practical professional activity. The assignments for the Practice of teacher assistant aim at and enable the students to realize teacher's activities as a whole when acting as an assistant to the teacher: development of educational interaction with learners and educational environment, planning of education, managing educational process in the classroom and informal activities, cognition of learners, assessment and self-assessment of learner’s achievements and progress, enhancing learners' motivation and rendering assistance to them.

Aim of the course

To usefully apply the theoretical knowledge acquired during the studies in practice with the active observation and assistance of a mentor and to acquire the development, management and implementation of the content of the development of practical skills of pedagogical work; ensuring student progress, achievement assessment and feedback; professional partnerships, networking, communication and cooperation; reflection and self-esteem, continuous improvement; in the social emotional; digital literacy.

Course content

Assesment Criteria

1. Provides a description of the subject program and selects appropriate learning resources (methods, materials, tools), taking into account the specific learning situation. 2. Describe the organizational structure of the school and identify the teaching / learning conditions: learning environment, available human and material resources. 3. Identifies elements of communication culture and pedagogical interactions in the pedagogical environment. 4. Analyzes pedagogical activities and provides insights into the pedagogue's picture. 5. Analyzes the lessons observed and the activities of the class leader and provides reflective summaries of the impact of these activities on personal professional and academic development.
