Industrial Plant and Process Design
Description
This course aims to provide knowledge of the theoretical principles of industrial plant and process design, including basic principles of material and energy balances, materials of construction and economical evaluation of the process. It also aims to provide basic understanding of the driving forces regulating choices of design, equipment selection, and document preparation; a capability to evaluate and select the most appropriate solution for a given practical problem in this area. After completion of the course students will demonstrate understanding and have practical experience in solving theoretical problems, show capability in managing basic preparation of drawings, schematics and data elaboration involved in plant and process design.
