Methodology of Applied Research

Description

The purpose of the study subject is to acquaint students with the methods of applied research and to give the practical skills required to perform, describe and present applied research in the preparation of scientific and research works. Studying this subject, students will acquire theoretical and analytical knowledge needed to deepen understanding and develop skills in applying statistical analysis and other quantitative research methods used in the analysis and forecasting of customs data, students will be able to apply these methods in customs research and make decisions based on the results of applied research.

Aim of the course

The aim of the course is to enable students to acquire knowledge of applied research methodology and the ability to apply it in practical work, research work or applied research in preparation for the final or other work.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of mathematics, statistics, econometric and information technology.

Course content

1. Research Methods in Social Sciences. 2. Basic scientific research in the context of customs management 3. Introduction to central statistical analyses and quantitative research methods. 4. Research plans, data collection methods and data analysis (IBM SPSS Statistics; R software).

Assesment Criteria

1. Describes and understands the applicable social science research methods. 2. Ability to carry out basic research in the context of customs management in both quantitative and qualitative terms; and apply programs (IBM SPSS Statistics or R software). 3. Understands central statistical analysis and is able to use quantitative research methods. 4. Ability to create research plans, review the literature, keep records, apply various data collection methods, perform data analysis and draw conclusions in business research. 5. Ability to communicate with the scientific community in the field of business research. A scientific paper has been prepared and presented. 6. Ability to apply the results of business research in decision making. An individual task has been prepared.
