Management of Educational Projects

Description

Course management of educational projects is both theoretically and practically orientated. In this course opportunities for students to get acquainted with the concepts of educational project and management of educational project are provided; students are also encouraged to discuss about the functions of educational project for the development of education and introduction of innovations into education in the context of lifelong learning.

Aim of the course

The aim of the study subject is to create conditions for students to acquire and develop skills of preparation and management of educational projects by improving the activities of educational organizations and educational services for target groups.

Course content

The main priorities of the EU and LR strategic documents in the funding programs. Projects in the processes of cohesion and harmonization. The concept of educational project. The concept of management of educational projects. Stages of project development: search, idea, preparation, implementation, and accountability. The main concepts in project management. Logical framwork. Project management processes: project initiation, team building and team activities; project work and team work; project management and accountability; the issues of author’s rights and ownership in the projects. Project planning: human, tangible, and other resources. Project risk management. Information flows. Principles of budgeting in projects. The functions of educational project in education in the context of lifelong learning. Projects as the means of professional (pedagogical and andragogical) development. Development of professional competencies at individual (learners’) and organizational levels. Apply Effect + Project application features and innovations.

Assesment Criteria

Discusses the main priorities of EU and Lithuanian strategic documents in project support programs. The educational project is described, the possibilities, obstacles and peculiarities of project activities in education are explained. The concept of the project is described, the main stages of project preparation, etc. are identified and described, and the functions in project management are listed and described. Orally and in writing: management functions in project management, their general and specific characteristics are explained. The role of the project in implementing innovations in education, improving the activities of educational organizations, and solving the problems of target groups related to education was assessed orally and in writing (reflections). A project application has been prepared to solve the problem of the selected target group (or the educational needs of the clients of a certain educational organization or the clients of another organization).
