Leadership Psychology
Description
Course objective – to develop and increase theoretical knowledge in scientific problems of managerial psychology, and to develop students‘ skills in applying knowledge to practical leadership situations. The main topics are - differences in management and leadership; the essentials of manager‘s work – main principles of effective management, manager‘s roles and functions, leadership skills. Theories of leadership; international and culturally diverse aspects of leadership. The course includes lectures, discussions, group project, analysis of short leadership cases and scientific publications.
Aim of the course

Course content
Assesment Criteria
1. Described classical and modern psychological leadership theories in terms of components, advantages and disadvantages
2. Review of contemporary research results and research methods in selected field of managerial psychology, including evaluation of validity and application possibilities
3. Designed the plan of scientific research in the selected field of managerial psychology
4. Properly identified psychological problems related to management and leadership in the provided case, and chosen intervention method based on the selected leadership theory
5. Oral presentation and written project with the information for the leaders of organizations about contemporary knowledge in managerial psychology, explaining the possibilities of knowledge application to practical leadership situations and to management and employee development.
