Information Society Technologies

Description

This course aims to develop basic understanding in information society (knowledge society) and modern communication technologies. The content includes: concepts of information society (knowledge society); information and telecommunication technologies; information encoding, collection, processing, storage, retrieval and dissemination; global networks; human-computer interaction; activities and services in electronic space; information systems and registries; information reliability and security; legal, social, and ethical aspects and strategies of information society. On completion this subject students should perceive basic concepts and processes of information society. Teaching methods are lectures, individual and group work.
