History of Diplomacy

Description

At the beginning of the course, concepts of diplomacy as well as diplomacy as a part of foreign policy are discussed. Analysis of the history of diplomacy starts from the Antiquity. Renaissance diplomacy, as the cradle of modern diplomacy, is discussed. Special attention is paid to the national diplomacies of the XVII-XIX centuries. Collective security problems of the XX century are discussed. Special attention is paid to the specific features of French, English, U.S. and other states’ diplomacy. The course ends with the review of contemporary diplomacy as well as with accents on specific features of the history of Lithuanian diplomacy.
