Fundamentals of Financial Management
Description
Aim of the course is to develop students’ ability to follow the principles of financial management, make risk and profitability-based investment and financing decisions. Students acquire knowledge and develop competencies to assess the company’s financial condition, plan and justify business financing and investment decisions, assess the risks and determine the value of financial market instruments. The main study methods – interpretation, task solutions, case analysis.

To form students’ abilities to apply the principles of financial management, to make investments and financing decisions based on risk and profitability.

6. Investment valuation methods and discount rate determination
7. Investment risk assessment methods
8. Financial market instruments and their valuation
Assesment Criteria
1. Recognizes and describes at least half of the concepts of financial management used.
2. Demonstrates the ability to apply the principles of financial management to solve practical tasks.
3. Recognizes financial forecasting, planning and control processes.
4. Apply the time value of money principle in calculating the future and present values of cash flows.
5. Applies the company's financial analysis methods, evaluates the company's financial condition, offers ways to solve problems
6. Apply risk assessment methods and interpret the obtained risk assessment results.
7. Demonstrates the rationale for investment and financing decisions in terms of risk and profitability.
8. Determine the value of financial market instruments and calculate their profitability.
