Business Communication

Description

The purpose of the study subject - to enable students to acquire knowledge about business communication (at the local and international level). To develop analytical abilities creatively interpret and apply elements of external and internal communication in areas of professional activities. Critically evaluate manipulative mechanisms, apply, adapt and prepare negotiation instruments. To recognize and understand the body language of another person (business or negotiation partner).

Aim of the course

To provide knowledge about the business communication process and it?s specifics, to help students acquire the ability to recognize and apply verbal and non-verbal communication tools, when making negotiation decisions in different environmental conditions.

Fundamentals of Management.

Course content

1. Theoretical foundations of business communication. 2. Internal and external communication of the organization. 3. Manipulations and their use in business communication. 4. Decision-making in subjects conversations. 5. Body language in business communication. 6. Preparation for business communication and negotiations. 7. Multicultural business communication. 8. Proof, reasoning, persuasion, persuasion.

Assesment Criteria

1. Analysis of business communication models, highlighting essential elements of communication process. 2. The analysis of the external and internal communication of the selected organization was carried out, problem areas were identified, and innovative solutions were proposed. 3. Identified communication failures in the communication processes of the selected organization. 4. Collected and presented information about gestures in the chosen foreign country and performed analysis of the sample of filmed speech, trying to recognize and describe gestures, seeking to provide their explanations. 5. Intercultural communication analysis of the selected country according to G. Hofstede's dimensions. 6. Has been prepared a public speech according to the requirements of academic language and the requirements of the faculty's written works.
