Russian Language B1.1

Description

Students develop competence in intermediate level (B1) Russian through the linguistic activities of reception (listening and reading comprehension), production and interaction (speaking and writing) and mediation (translation). Learners further develop phonological, orthographic, grammatical and lexical competences, present oral presentations, participate in role-plays and discuss the culture and traditions of Russian-speaking countries at B1 level. The course is structured in a mixed form: group work, role-plays, discussions, analysis of texts, work in the MOODLE virtual environment (synchronous/asynchronous consultations, discussion forums, interactive exercises), independent work with practical application of the theoretical material.

Aim of the course

To develop general competences, communicative language competences (linguistic (grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, orthography), sociolinguistic and pragmatic and communicative language activities: production, interaction and mediation (oral and written) at the intermediate level (B1.1).

Prerequisites

Competence in Russian at A2 level.

Types of numerals, declension of numerals. 9. The expression of time. Participle. Adverb. The place and function of the participle and the adverb in the sentence structure of the Russian language. The use of prepositions (???, ??, ??). 10. Perfective and imperfective aspects of verbs (in Future tense, subjunctive mood, and in the constructions with ?????/??????). Assesment Criteria

Midterm exam – 20%, final exam – 30%, written tests and other assignments during the semester – 50%.
