Specialization Instrument I
Description
This is the Performance Art (specialization – jazz saxophone, jazz trumpet, jazz trombone, jazz piano, jazz guitar, bass guitar, jazz percussion) program discipline, which is designed to prepare jazz music performers – soloists, which are capable of performing concert programs in various jazz styles, analyze them, use expression manners, common to jazz music, critically evaluate results of professional activity. This is the first level of a course that takes up three semesters, during which typical concert specialization instrument repertoire is assembled, technical, interpretational, individual work with instrument and musical texts skills are developed, jazz and own compositions are performed.
Aim of the course
To expand the concert repertoire with purposefully selected works of modern jazz, in which the peculiar strokes of performance and interpretation, creative solutions would begin to emerge, to develop analytical thinking, presenting the technical and artistic solutions in a written and verbal form.

Course content
Assesment Criteria
1. Written and oral annotation of the program chosen for the 300-500 word exam, which reflects the course of the creative process and the justification of the arrangement decisions and the explanation of the reasons for the choice.
2. The program has been selected based on diversity and a change in style and performance.
3. The compositions were performed flawlessly in terms of instrument control technique and sound quality.
4. Improvisation is logical and diverse - various tools and specific possibilities of the instrument have been used in a unique way.
5. To use in the arrangement of works:
5.1. Various techniques of reharmonization and application of non-functional harmony
5.2. Original solutions to the interpretation of the style and genre of a work, or an unexpected change of the original style to atypical.
5.3. Interestingly chosen form of the work.
5.4. Accompanying instruments were creatively selected and used.
