Human and Animal Morphophysiology
Description
This course is intended to provide students with a knowledge of human and animal morphophysiology. The course include material about the concept, historical review of morphophysiology, methods in morphophysiology investigation, organization of the body, terminology, histology, the skin and its derivatives; homeostasis, key aspects of functioning of the nervous system, sense organs, endocrine system, their influence for the self-regulation of the organism; bones, joints, muscles; morphophysiology of the heart and vascular, lymphatic, lymphoid, respiratory, digestive systems; basics of nutrition physiology, morphophysiology of the urogenital system, non-renal excretion.

The aim of the course is to provide students with knowledge of human and animal morphophysiology.

Assesment Criteria
Ability to describe the concept of morphophysiology, the most important historical facts, research methods, aspects of body organization and terminology. Ability to characterize tissue types, structure, functions performed. Ability to describe the structural and functional organization of the general body surface. Ability to explain the concept of homeostasis and the basic principles of its maintenance; the main aspects of the functioning of the nervous system, sensory organs, endocrine system. Ability to characterize the organs of support and movement. Ability to describe the morphophysiology of cardiovascular, lymphatic, lymphoid, respiratory, digestive systems, principles of nutritional physiology, morphophysiology of the urinary and genital system, non-renal excretion. Ability to apply acquired practical knowledge and skills.
