GIS in Ecological Research
Description
The aim of the study subject is to help students to acquire skills in the field of spatial data analysis by applying them in solving ecological issues, independently conducting scientific and applied research, evaluating the results of planned activities.
During the course, students are introduced to the predictions of geographic data analysis, peculiarities and possibilities of spatial analysis, and the methodology of spatial analysis is used in search of optimal solutions for ecology.
Aim of the course
To form a system of knowledge and skills that would allow the student to apply geographical information systems in decisions of ecology issues by independently conducting scientific and applied research and evaluating the results of planned activities

Course content

Assesment Criteria
1. Knows the principles of geographic data analysis, peculiarities and possibilities of spatial analysis.
2. Uses and understands the methods of spatial analysis in search of optimal solutions for ecology.
3. Understands the results of geographic data analysis and is able to explain them.
4. Demonstrates good skills in working with specialized computer programs.
5. Knows which methods of geographic data analysis to choose in a particular case.
