Logistics Management

Description

After listening to the study subject, students will be able to analyze the company's logistics chain, identify the structural elements of the logistics chain and identify opportunities for improvement. Systematic management of logistics processes will provide a general understanding of how to apply logistics knowledge, modern technologies and IT systems to improve the company's logistics processes in order to optimize the organization of the company's activities. The study subject applies the methods of case analysis of logistics processes, document filling and practical application of logistics IT, lectures of integrated business specialists and study visits to logistics and trade companies. The knowledge acquired during the studies will help the student to choose the most suitable logistics sector in which he / she plans to work after the studies.

Aim of the course

The aim of the study subject is to provide students with theoretical knowledge and skills to recognize and manage the company's logistics processes, identify problem areas and be able to provide suggestions for their solution without violating the basic principles of sustainable development.

Prerequisites

Students must have completed general university and other major subjects (Business Development, Logistics Engineering and Technology, etc.).

Course content

1. Logistics management object, value (value to service provider, customer). Basic concepts. 2. Introduction to the logistics management process and integration relationships. 3. Requirements for logistics management. Time order management. 4. Logistics Management Areas (Supply, Warehousing, Manufacturing, Transportation, Inventory, Distribution, Waste, Information, etc.). 5. Basics of logistics center management 6. Basics of customer logistics service management (from 1 PL to 6PL) 7. Basics of Logistics Management Strategy. 8. Introduction to legal conventions relevant to logistics management. 9. Evaluation of logistics management system, obstacles and directions for improvement. 10. Introduction to logistics cooperation and calculation of logistics costs. 11. Green logistics.

Assesment Criteria

Criteria for threshold achievement level: 1. The logistics chain and its main functional elements are described. 2. The significance of logistics management for the organization of company activities is defined. 3. Explained logistics process management and demonstrated competence in logistics IT. 4. The problematic situation of the company's logistics is analyzed and evaluated. 5. Demonstrated skills of teamwork in logistics strategy development tasks. 6. The problematic case of logistic situation is analyzed.
