Environmental Impact Assessment and Monitoring
Description
To provide theoretical knowledge of environmental impact assessment and monitoring, to develop skills in the field of environmental impact assessment and monitoring, competencies that help to develop innovative knowledge using the latest environmental impact assessment and monitoring methodologies and apply them in professional activities. To solve problems in the constantly changing climate change environment, to critically evaluate theoretical and practical innovations by understanding the consequences of decisions made and the responsibility for them.
Aim of the course
To acquaint students with the concept and main concepts of environmental impact assessment and monitoring science; to submit legal acts of environmental impact assessment and monitoring, methods of environmental impact assessment and monitoring; to develop an understanding of how to identify, describe and assess the potential direct, indirect and cumulative effects of the proposed economic activity on the environment by critically assessing their advantages and disadvantages from an environmental point of view.
Prerequisites
The student must have studied: Soil Science, General Ecology, Dendrology, Vertebrate Biology, Agrotechnology and Environmental Protection, Ecosystem Ecology, Landscape Ecology and Landscape Studies.
Course content

Assesment Criteria
1. Describes the research problem, applying the appropriate methodology for research, design decisions and formulates conclusions, possible problem solving methods.
2. Defines the condition of air, soil, water, the impact of environmental factors on human health, selects pollution prevention and biodiversity protection measures by applying monitoring systems.
3. Describes the impact of a specific planned economic activity on the environment in a specific place, envisaging the course and methods of solving the problem, preparing a project description.
4. Describes scientific, legal, other sources of information, selects them, systematizes them, evaluates them, applies them in practice.
5. Defines responsibility for one's actions and decisions in the context of the environmental impact assessment of the planned economic activity.
