Smart Technologies and Materials in Applied Physics

Research overview

The main targets of this group are as follows:

  • Investigate electrical and optical properties of SbSClxI1-x crystals.
  • Investigate structural and electrical changes that appear in chalkohalogenides under high pressure.
  • To create and investigate new piezomechanical systems for super small size flying devices (drones), using “smart” materials and technologies.
  • To create and investigate prototypes of new ultrasonic systems for acoustic levitation, traveling wave motor used in photo/video cameras, water pollution cleaning device.
  • To create a new nano-compounds, magnetic and fluorescence biomarkers, for quick and early skin cancer diagnostics.  The base of such new material will be non-toxic dendrimer containing nanodiamonds.
  • Investigate properties of nanodiamonds in cancer affected cells bimodal visualization (fluorescent and magnetic) as well as for drug delivery detection.
