Application and Admission Procedure:

For 2021-2022 Spring Intake, Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) offers Bachelor's and Master’s degree study programmes that are taught in English language. When choosing a degree programme, pay attention to programme-specific requirements that must be fulfilled during your application.

Fill out the application form online and attach the required documents:

  1. Copy of High School / Bachelor / Master’s degree diploma and its supplement(Transcript of Records / Mark sheet). Documents must be provided in the original language and translated into English, certified by a Notary, and approved by an Apostille (for citizens of countries acceding to the 1961 Hague Convention).

    If the applicant is currently studying in the final year of high school/secondary school or University and their institution cannot issue a final graduation diploma before the application deadline, they should submit the recent transcript of academic records and the certificate indicating the date of receiving a final secondary school certificate or final diploma.

    Note! Please check specific requirements for the following countries.

  2. Proof of English proficiency: the applicant has to present a document proving B2 level (TOEFL 87-109 iBT/534-633 PBT, IELTS 5-6,5, Cambridge English First (FCE), BEC Vantage, Michigan ECCE, PTE General Level 3, TOEIC Listening & Reading 785, TOEIC Speaking & Writing 310, Duolingo 100-115) if the applicant is not a native speaker and/or had not received education in English. Note! Please check each programme’s access requirements for proof of English proficiency and present the documents according to programme’s requirements.
  3. Motivational Letter (1200–3000 characters).
  4. Curriculum Vitae (Resume).
  5. Copy of passport or other documents of identification. Note! The document should be valid at least least 2 years from the date of document submission for studies.
  6. Copy of document showing paid application fee of 100 EUR (Note: the name of the applicant and the date of payment should be indicated).
  7. 1 recent photo (3×4 cm).
  8. Filled and signed Letter of Concurrence.

Note! Academic recognition is carried out on the basis of the academic assessment of qualifications. In this case, documents are assessed to determine whether foreign qualifications are comparable to the secondary or higher education qualifications conferred in the Republic of Lithuania. The process of recognition is carried out together with the application process after the applicant fully uploads and submits the required documents in a single application on the DreamApply system.

In order to select the best and most motivated applicants, VMU International Cooperation Department’s coordinators and programme coordinators interview applicants by Skype (Skype ID: VMUinternational). You will be contacted personally after submission of the online application with further details (date and time) of an interview.

After applying online, the application documents are sent to the admission committee. All accepted candidates receive Letters of Acceptance which contains further instructions on how to finalize the admission.

After receiving the Letter of Acceptance you need to sign the Study Agreement. More information will be provided by the coordinator at VMU International Cooperation Department together with further details on how to finalize your admission.

International full-time students, who would like to be accommodated in VMU dormitories, are requested to apply online when the accommodation application opens. Please follow the information on the website.

As a newly accepted student, you will be able to book accommodation on the same portal after your agreement of studies is signed with the email that was provided by the university.

Applicants from non-EU/ EEA countries are required to obtain a national multi-entry D type visa for studies from the nearest Lithuanian Embassy or Consulate of their home country. The consular fee for a national D type visa for students is 120 EUR. After the applicant pays the tuition fee, and the tuition fee payment is received by Vytautas Magnus University, the applicant is provided with a Mediation Letter Number in order to obtain the national multi-entry D type visa for studies. Check the list of Lithuanian Embassies and Consulates and VFS Global If you are coming from a foreign country where Lithuania does not have a representative Embassy or Consulate, the applicant should be informed where the nearest Lithuanian Embassy or Consulate is located and if it provides national multi-entry D type visa for studies. Vytautas Magnus University also provides applicants with a Confirmation Letter, issued in English, for the Intermediate Embassy or Consulate.

 

After getting confirmation from VMU International Cooperation Department, the applicant is requested to make an appointment at the Lithuanian Embassy or Consulate personally. Please, be informed of and prepare the documents required by Lithuanian Embassy or Consulate in order to apply and obtain a national multi-entry D type visa for studies. Usually, the decision on the issue of a visa is made within 10-14 days after the receipt of the application. However, sometimes it takes a longer time depending on the specific country where the applicant comes from.

Note! Students who have the national multi-entry D type visa for studies must arrive in Lithuania first. If your flight is not direct to your final destination, you cannot leave the airport as you will not be allowed to continue your trip to Lithuania.
