Vytautas Magnus University welcomes teaching staff from EU/EEA and Non-EU/EEA countries for Erasmus+ teaching mobility.

Erasmus+ programme provides a great opportunity for the academic staff to benefit from international cooperation opportunities, encourages development and dissemination of both existing and new study programmes as well as organisation of intensive study programmes and thematic networks.

Vytautas Magnus University invites faculty members of its partner universities for Erasmus+ teaching visits at VMU!

Faculty members, interested in Erasmus+ teaching visits at VMU, should find the matching academic subdivision for their visit and contact it’s Academic coordinator.

EU/EEA countries which participates in Erasmus+ programme:

EU countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden.
EEA countries: Iceland, Lichtenstein, Republic of North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Turkey.
Other countries: Switzerland, United Kingdom.

Non-EU/EEA countries: Western Balkans, Eastern Partnership countries, Southern Mediterranean countries, Asian countries, Central Asian countries, Latin American countries, African, Caribbean, Pacific and other countries.

Selection for Incoming Erasmus+ Teaching visits at Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) is implemented by home university. Teachers should contact their home university's International office and ask about the availability of grants and selection procedure. If it required to submit Invitation letter to the selection committee the teacher should contact VMU International Cooperation Department via email: erasmus@vdu.lt.

When the selection is made, partner university should send the Nomination letter to VMU: erasmus@vdu.lt.

The teaching activity should last 5 days, 2 additional days are foreseen for the trip. Teacher should have not less than 8 teaching hours per week.

Nominated teacher should:

  1. Arrange the date of the visit. Teacher should contact Academic coordinator of responsible Faculty/Academy who will be in charge of the visit. In order to choose the matching Academic subvision, please visit the website.
  2. Submit the documents not later than 2 months before the visit. Teacher will have to send all documents to erasmus@vdu.lt.
    List of required documents:
    - fully signed "Teaching Mobility Agreement". Document has to be signed by the teacher, the head of home university's department and representative from VMU Faculty/Academy.
    - copy of passport (page with the picture).
    - personal data form.
  3. After receiving above mentioned documents coordinator of VMU International Cooperation Department will prepare Grant agreement and send it to the incoming teacher for signatures.
  4. After signing the Grant agreement full grant is transferred to the teacher's personal bank account.
  5. After arrival teacher should visit VMU International Cooperation Department to sign required documents and take the Certificate of attendance.
  6. After the visit teacher should:
    - complete Online Erasmus+ mobility report (a questionnaire will be sent to a teacher automatically a day after the visit from Mobility Tools system);
    - send Travel documents (plane / bus / train tickets and boarding passes) to erasmus@vdu.lt.

For the 7 days visit teacher will receive travel grant to cover the trip expenses and individual support to cover the living expenses. Both sums will be paid as a "lump sum" before the start of the mobility period.

2. Travel costs

Travel distance* is calculated between the participant's place of origin and venue of activity using the distance calculator available at the website of the European Commission.

From 500 to 1999 km: 275,00 Eur
From 2000 to 2999 km: 360,00 Eur
From 3000 to 3999 km: 530,00 Eur
From 4000 to 7999 km: 820,00 Eur
8000 km or more: 1.500,00 Eur

Please note. "Travel distance" refers to a distance between the place of origin to the venue of the activity (Kaunas or Vilnius), while the "Amount allocated" includes the amount for the trip to the venue of activity and return.
