Public Transport

Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) students use public transportation for reaching VMU faculties/academies as well as other places in Kaunas or Vilnius.

Kaunas has 67 trolleybus and bus routes, generally running from 5:00 am until 23:00, some run later as well. There are night buses on weekends and festive days.

Note: passengers must get on the bus through the front door and validate e-tickets or buy a single-use ticket from the driver.

In order to receive the discount for public transport:

  • Students, who are citizens of EU / EFTA countries, must obtain International Student Identity Card (isic.lt/en) or Lithuanian Student ID card (lsp.lt/en)
  • Students, coming from NON-EU/EFTA countries, must obtain Lithuanian Student ID card (lsp.lt/en)
