Fourth Leonidas Donskis Memorial Conference and Concert
On September 21, 2021, the Fourth Leonidas Donskis Memorial Conference will be held at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas. The Donskis memorial Conferences are held in memory of Leonidas Donskis, the prominent Lithuanian scholar and opinion maker who unexpectedly passed away on that day five years ago. The conferences are meant to keep the memory of him alive, and discuss topics that were close to his heart.
The best evaluated teachers by students at VMU in 2020-2021
The quality of teaching influences successful learning at the university, and students' opinion about teaching and learning help to reveal the strengths of studies, meet the issues to be improved and make decisions to maintain a high level of study quality. The survey of VMU students “Teaching and Learning Evaluation” is in progress every semester to find out experiences in study courses, to analyze the reasons for positive and negative evaluation, and the results of the survey are used to identify the teachers that are mostly acknowledged by students in the University academic divisions.
Join “Cartooning the Future” workshops
In honor of 100 years of bilateral cooperation between Lithuania and the Netherlands, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Lithuania is inviting youth across the country to share their ideas about the future. The cooperation and strong relationship between The Netherlands and Lithuania is based on common values, respect for human rights and the importance of democracy and rule of law. In the project “Cartooning the Future” we explore the various ways in which we can make a difference for human rights.

Open Competition for University Fee Exemptions for Autumn Semester
Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) has launched an open competition for university fee exemptions for autumn semester of the academic year 2021/2022. The purpose of the competition is to achieve the mission of socially responsible university by reducing social exclusion, creating appropriate financial conditions for VMU students to be accommodated and (or) study (taking into account different social (material) situations, study results and (or) accommodation in the dormitory).
VMU Will Hold Celebration of New Academic Year
On Wednesday 1 September, at 1 p.m., in the garden of the Vytautas Magnus War Museum, VMU will hold its celebration dedicated to the start of the academic year. The event will include the traditional freshman pledge, greeting speeches by the VMU Rector Juozas Augutis, the President of the Students’ Representative Council Ieva Vengrovskaja and other honourable guests, and a performance by the indie pop band Sisters on Wire.
European Day of Languages with the Transform4Europe Alliance
The Transform4Europe alliance invites you to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the European Day of Languages on 24 September together. With this initiative we wish to promote multilingualism and language learning as an inevitable component of HE in Europe, raise awareness among the communities of all partner universities about the languages of the Transform4Europe alliance and engage the communities of all partner universities and their stakeholders in a discussion of the benefits and challenges that linguistic diversity brings into the European corporate, public, and academic discourses.
VMU Orientation Week – Autumn Semester 2021
International Cooperation Department of Vytautas Magnus University is organising the Orientation Week . During this week, you will get to know VMU faculties, while Survival Lithuanian courses will guide your through the Lithuanian history, culture, and our beautiful city Kaunas. Students will be able to participate in interesting events, find new friends and have a splendid time with each other. Orientation Week will take place from August 23rd to September 1st.
