VMU Student Surveys Results on the Quality of Teaching and Learning

At the end of each semester, students of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) bachelor, master, integrated and professional studies express their opinion on the quality of teaching and learning of the studied courses. The survey is conducted online. Students are provided with separate questionnaires about different teachers of study courses (except for internships, coursework, research, and final theses). During the survey, students also evaluate their own activity in the study process – learning and completing tasks.

University Fees Exemptions Were Awarded for Students

Vytautas Magnus university (VMU) publishes the results of an open competition for university fee exemptions for Spring semester 2021/2022. The purpose of the competition is to achieve the mission of socially responsible university by reducing social exclusion, creating appropriate financial conditions for VMU students to be accommodated and (or) study (taking into account different social (material) situations, study results and (or) accommodation in the dormitory).

Transform4Europe Culture Festival in Kaunas

Highly anticipated throughout the Transform4Europe Alliance, a week from the 4th to the 8th of May, 2022, will be dedicated to culture, discoveries and valuable connections when Vytautas Magnus University, together with the entire community of the Alliance, will be holding a Festival of European Culture. It is nothing short of symbolic that the first cultural Festival of the Alliance will occur during the year when Kaunas is the European Capital of Culture. A 4-day festival will invite students and staff members from the Alliance partner universities to Kaunas city, where an exciting programme will be waiting for them.

The Transform4Europe Alliance, as a member of European University Alliances, condemns Russia’s military invasion in Ukraine and Putin’s cynical lies to justify the attack on Ukrainian sovereignty. We stand with all the people of Ukraine who unequivocally oppose this war and express solidarity with academic communities affected by Russia`s military aggression. We encourage our governments to take the most serious actions towards stopping the war in Ukraine and re-establishing peace.

International conference on Baltic and East Asian countries

The Centre for Asian Studies is inviting researchers, students and the general public to an international academic conference dedicated to explore historical and contemporary relations between the countries in the Baltic and East Asia regions. It will be held in a mixed format (participation is possible both online and in-person; all presentations will be streamed online) on March 4-5, 2022 at Room 313/103, Putvinskio str. 23, Kaunas or online via MS Teams platform.

Unity and Solidarity Action “Freedom Shines” to Support Ukraine

In February 2014, candles were lit in front of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania to commemorate the Heavenly Maidan Centenary, and bonfires of solidarity were lit. Today, as then, it is particularly important to stand together with Ukraine.  That is why on 24 February, from 6 pm onwards, the unity and solidarity action "Freedom Shines" will take place.

In April 2021, a virtual patrol was launched on Lithuanian Facebook - a great and undoubtedly necessary initiative to control the violations taking place on the platform. From the beginning of the patrol to November, over 2,700 reports of misconduct were received. Such a number would probably not surprise anyone who spends at least a few hours a day scrolling on Facebook. It is an open secret that we can easily notice at least one such violator ourselves.
