Demographic Issues to Be Tackled at International Conference

On 29–30 November 2011, international scientific conference Contemporary Global Demographic Problems: Migrations and Migration Policy will be held in Moscow, organised by the Russian State University for the Humanities and the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences on Historical Demography and Historical Geography.

 

The following conference sections have been announced:

  • "New resettlement of people" in the context of globalization.
    • the basic directions of migrations in the modern world;
    • categories of migration (legal, illegal, labor, brain drain” etc.);
    • migration movements in various countries.
  • Migration management. Experience of different countries in the field of international conflict resolution;
  • Migrant adaptation: employment problems, formation, overcoming language barriers, social security, health services, health of the migrants, etc.;
  • Migrations and their influence on the ethno-demographic population structure (change of ethnic structures, reproductive behavior, international marriages);
  • Tourism as a special migration category;
  • History of migration movements in Russia and abroad;
  • Research of migration processes in Russian and foreign scientific literature.
