DeuS: European Open Design School for Sustainable Regional Development
DeuS is a regional Vocational Educational Training (VET) project in the cultural and creative sector joining relevant players from Austria, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Slovakia and UK. It builds on the work in the Open Design School pilot initiative promoted under ECoC Matera 2019.
Debate on Democratic Change in the Future World
On December 8th at 14:00, the Faculty of Political Science and Diplomacy of Vytautas Magnus University will hold a debate, titled “Is there a Place for Democratic Change in the Future World?” By invitation of the Spanish Embassy in Lithuania, the debate will be joined by the Director of the Elcano Royal Institute (Spain) Charles Powell and Senior Analyst of the same institute Ignacio Molina.

Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) has been included in the global ranking of innovative universities, World’s Universities with Real Impact (WURI), where it has been ranked 41st in the category of entrepreneurial spirit.

Fourth Annual Spanish Language Forum at VMU to be Held Virtually
The Fourth Annual Spanish Language Forum in Kaunas (Foro de español en Kaunas) will take place on Saturday, December 5. This year's international event will be organized remotely and will bring together over one hundred Spanish-language specialists from the Baltic region and other countries.
VMU to Support Students Who Suffered Repressions by Belarus Government
VMU has established a support fund for students admitted to the university who have been expelled or persecuted for civil and/or political reasons due to the repressive actions of the government of Belarus and consequently could not continue their studies due to the fear of an unsafe environment, thus terminating their studies in the institutions of higher education in Belarus.
National Forum on Human Rights to Focus on Diverse Lithuania in Europe
On 10 December, the traditional annual National Forum on Human Rights (NFHR) will be held in Lithuania. The event, which takes place on Human Rights Day every year, has been moved online this year due to the lockdown measures imposed in the country.
Competition for VMU Graduate Ignas Bielevičius Nominal Scholarship
Mr. Ignas Bielevičius, a graduate of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU), Faculty of Informatics, who graduated from his Bachelor’s studies in 2009, established two nominal, one-off, annual scholarships of 500EUR for VMU students. The purpose of these scholarships is to financially encourage students for their good study results and active participation in scientific and/or social activities.
Free online lecture about Lithuanian Language and Culture
In January of 2021, Vytautas Magnus University organises online Lithuanian Language and Culture Winter Course. The gloomy January in the background of the pandemic is a great month to learn Lithuanian, getting to know its culture and history. Nowadays, foreigners and world Lithuanians can learn Lithuanian in their own countries, at the comfort of their home, outside, in their cars or on a ship. From the States to the faraway Australia, from Lithuania to Japan: people meet in these courses united by the inspiring goal to learn all things Lithuanian.
