The First International European Day of Languages at VMU
Which nation celebrates the Alphabet Day? How to read a German word which is one line long or even longer easily? What is the most beautiful sentence in Estonian? Is the concept of time understood in the same way in every country? Moreover, how to use this knowledge in academic and professional activities? These are just a few of the questions answered at the International Event for European Day of Languages.
Business and Science Forum: Challenges and Prospects of the Green Deal
The Forum – International Conference “Green Deal: Guidelines Improving the Well-being of Society and Business” took place at the Vytautas Magnus University Agriculture Academy (VMU Agriculture Academy) on the 21st of September. The leaders of science and business of an international scale held discussions in the efforts to find the solutions for more efficient use of natural resources enabling preservation of the biological diversity, reducing the pollution and securing the well-being of people at large through development of sustainable economy of the EU.
Opening of Taiwan Photography Exhibition
VMU Centre for Asian Studies is inviting not to miss the opening of Dr. Arvydas Kumpis photography exhibition “Taiwan: Between Tradition and Modernity” which is going to take place on October 1st, 13:45 at the 4th floor gallery (V. Putvinskio g. 23, Kaunas). After the opening we are inviting all to open lecture (in English) by Alex Fratila during which he will introduce contemporary Taiwan’s societal peculiarities and cultural variety. The exhibition will take place until November 29th at the 4th floor gallery.
Computer Literacy Test for First Year Students
First year students who did not take Computer Literacy test on August 26th, 2021 will have a chance to do this on September 29th. The computer literacy test will be open on 29 of September from 11.00 a.m. till 11.30 a.m. Lithuanian time.
Transform4Europe: Representatives of Partner Universities visited VMU
On September 15-17, Vytautas Magnus University was visited by the partners of the European University, Transform4Europe Alliance: a delegation from the University of Silesia in Katowice (USil) from Poland and representatives of the Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA). We are delighted and proud that Vytautas Magnus University was chosen as the first destination for an experience sharing visit among Transform4Europe partners.
International Conference about Migration, Diaspora and Border studies
Vytautas Magnus university as a Part of GlocalEAst consortium organizes a conference “Teaching methodologies and approaches to border, migration and diaspora studies” on 23rd of September 2021. During the conference Lithuanian and international scholars and experts will discuss actual challenges of the field and prof. Krzysztof Czyżewski will deliver a key-note speech “I am with You. Practising the Borderland”.

Students Participated in a Transform4Europe Animation Course
On 11–17 August, Transform4Europe invited students from the intiative’s universities to attend a free text animation course online organized by the Estonian Academy of Arts.
Matlab and Data Analysis Class offer for PhD students
Saarland University is trying to strengthen the link with the partner Universities of the “European University Transform4Europe”. In the scope of a project called "Global Classroom", Saarland University offers a class “Matlab and Data Analysis” for PhD students of other T4E partner universities. In this course (PhD) students will learn the basics of programming and in particular how to use Matlab for universal data analysis.
Invitation to a Conference about Baltics-East Asia ties
This and next year Baltic states will celebrate multiple anniversaries commemorating the establishment of diplomatic relations with East Asian states: 100 years since the first bilateral relations and 30 years since re-establishment. On this occasion, the Centre for Asian studies is inviting researchers interested in East Asia and Baltic states, to submit proposals to academic conference “A Century of Connections: Historical ties Between the Baltic and East Asia Regions”, which will be taking place at Vytautas Magnus University on March 11-12, 2022.
