Free Concert for Ukrainians and Lithuanians Who’ve Helped Them
On 13 May, all Ukrainians residing in Lithuania and the Lithuanians who are helping them are welcome to attend a free concert of classical music which will offer performances by Ukrainian pianist Alexey Botvinov, who has visited many countries around the world, and the ensemble Lietuva, which represents Lithuanian culture. The title of the concert is symbolic: Après Un Rêve (After a Dream). This piece by French composer Gabriel Fauré will be performed by Botvinov and Lietuva's soloist Dovilė Kazonaitė (soprano).

VMU Exhibition: 100 Years of the University and Those Who Created It
Last Thursday, April 28, marked 33 years since the re-establishment of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) in Kaunas. This year, the University also commemorates the centennial of its founding: 100 years ago, the University of Lithuania was established, which was later renamed Vytautas Magnus University. On this occasion, the exhibition “Vivat Universitas Vytauti Magni!” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the university was opened at the VMU's Rectorate building. Through photographs, it reminds of the life of the university from its foundation, interwar activities to its re-establishment in 1989 and its present-day works. The exhibition will open its doors to the general public in May.

International Conference discusses Changing Information “Order”
In the face of the global pandemic and the Russian war in Ukraine, it is becoming crucial to rethink the important role of information and its impact on various geopolitical, sociopsychological and technological processes. This will be discussed at Vytautas Magnus University and remotely, on May 12-13, during conference ”News Media, Platform Policy and the Changing Information “Order” in Europe”.

“idialogue” Platform: Career Mentoring Activities available in English
As mentoring is becoming more and more popular, where various professionals share their experience, and young professionals growing up in different spheres strive to continuously learn, improve, and learn new things - the “idialogue” mentoring platform is also evolving and Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) has been cooperating with it since 2019.

“Languages for Brunch” will take place at VMU Agriculture Academy
A special event, “Languages for Brunch”, will take place at VMU Agriculture Academy Campus. The participants of the event will learn Bulgarian, Estonian, German, Italian, Lithuanian, Polish, Spanish and Ukrainian by playing a game as well as receiving prizes for active participation.

We invite You to take part in the 1922 Metres Running/Walking Race
To celebrate the centenary of the founding of the University of Lithuania, Vytautas Magnus University and the VMU Sports Centre are organising a run/walk dedicated to this anniversary. The main goal is to run a symbolic 1922 metres course from the courtyard of the Historical Presidential Palace of the Republic of Lithuania to the VMU Faculty of Economics and Management with 100 participants.

Join VMU Mentors’ Community!
Every year, students from all over the world come to Vytautas Magnus University. Some for just one semester, others for full-time studies, which provide an opportunity to stay in Lithuania for a longer period of time. But no matter how long they stay in Lithuania, the first days are confusing and at the same time most memorable. To make it easier for incoming students to take the first steps in the country and not to get lost, Vytautas Magnus University International Cooperation Department invites VMU students to become mentors of international students and to lend them a helping hand!

International Staff Week is Taking Place at VMU
This week, International Cooperation Department of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) will host around 70 guests from 36 countries, who have arrived for the International Staff week (Erasmus+ Teaching and Training Mobilities) from May 2 to 6.

The student survey “Teaching and learning evaluation” is underway
The University has launched the student survey Teaching and learning evaluation in 2022 spring semester. In the end of each semester all the students of bachelor, master, integrated and professional studies are invited to share an opinion about teachers and their own work during the semester study courses. The survey is anonymous!
