VMU to Be the First in the World to Sequence the Wisent Genome

“Today, biotechnology is one of the engines of European and global economic growth: in 2023, the global biotechnology market reached a staggering USD 1.55 trillion. Its applications are extensive, ranging from new and healthy food products and disease treatments to genetic engineering and environmental protection. Blended Intensive Program Focused on Improvement of Language Teaching
On 3–7 June, Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) hosted blended intensive program (BIP) for lecturers titled SALT: Strategies advancing language teaching, which welcomed language lecturers from Poland, Germany, Ireland, Ukraine, and Lithuania. “When I go to study abroad with Erasmus, I understand that no one knows about my achievements, no one knows who I am, what knowledge I have. So you have to prove what you know. “I’m probably the only one from my town who has gone to an East Asian country on my own,” laughs Gražvydas Stanevičius, a third-year student at Vytautas Magnus University (VMU), who spent half a year in Japan as part of an exchange programme.
