Information about Registration for Accommodation in the Dormitories
Students, who are currently living in the dormitories of Vytautas Magnus University located in Kaunas, Akademija (Kaunas district) or Vilnius and have concluded a fixed-term Agreements for Accommodation that are valid only until June 30th, 2020, and wishes to continue living in the dormitory, must register for further accommodation by completing this form. Registration shall be made no later than by June 14th, 2020. Students who are not currently living in one of the dormitories of VMU dormitory, but are interested in living in it during the summer period (from July 1st until July 31st, with a possibility of extension until August 15th , 2020) must also register by completing the same form of application.

Mind the Gap: Not Social But Physical Distancing
An international initiative seeks to change the term "social distancing" to a more appropriate one: “physical distancing”. The campaign’s authors, Human Rights in Mental Health-FGIP and VMU, have also prepared COVID-19-related recommendations for closed institutions and initiated a fundraiser for protective gear.

Scholarship Competition for Most Active Students of VMU
Since 2016, Vytautas Magnus University in cooperation with „R1 Lietuva“ (former UAB „Intermedix Lietuva“) has established seven one-time scholarships of 200 EUR which are awarded for full-time, final-year students of VMU Bachelor, Master or integrated studies. Scholarships are offered for students with higher academic achievements (total grades average, except for final semester, must be 9,000 or higher) with a priority for students with higher grades average and strong involvement in social and public activities within the university and outside of it.

Information about Library Work from June 1
Following the government’s loosening of quarantine requirements 4 library departments are opened: V. Biržiška Library, Agricultural Academy Library, Music Academy Library and Education Academy Library. Library opening hours from June 1 to June 30 (Monday - Friday) 10 am - 5 pm.

VMU Sports Centre Begins to Carry Out Physical Activities
From May 25th VMU Sports Centre begins to carry out physical activities in compliance with all specified protection measures during the quarantine period. Activities will take place at Vytautas Magnus University Agriculture Academy sports ground (Studentų str. 11).

When a month and a half ago I wrote a brief op-ed in 15min calling on people not to use the term “social distancing”, I did not expect such an overwhelming reaction. My “crie de couer” was the result of the feeling that the notion was a damaging one and only increased the isolation in which a significant portion of the population was already living due to psychosocial or physical disability or because of old age.

Procedure of Exam Session and Final Thesis Defence
