VMU to organize Conference about Child and Family Welfare

On 17-18 June 2021, The Department of Social Work at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) will hold online international conference “Social Work in Child and Family Welfare within a Child Rights Perspective”, which focuses on advances in child and family social work for the implementation of children’s rights and child welfare and aims to bring together all those who are interested in this area of social work and work in different research, education, social services institutions in Lithuania and abroad.
Main topics of the conference:
- Innovative social work services in child and family welfare;
- Child agency and child voice;
- Child and family welfare in child rights perspective;
- Relationship and working alliance between the state and parents in child and family welfare;
- Methods of social work with families and family counselling;
- Mental health and social work in child and family welfare;
- Family and disability;
- Identity and recognition of social work in child and family welfare.
Participants are invited to submit abstracts on research findings and reflections on practice relevant to the topics listed above. Abstracts for proposed oral and paper presentations (250 words maximum) could be applauded with registration.
Key dates
- Registration deadline for abstracts: April 30, 2021.
- Acceptance of abstracts will be announced by May 15, 2021.
- Registration deadline for participants (not presenters): June 1, 2021.
All presenters of the conference are kindly invited to submit full papers to the journal “Social Work: Experience and Methods”.
