VMU Teachers’ podcast “Freely and Critically” now available in English

Professor Gintautas Mažeikis and Associate Professor Tomas Kavaliauskas, researchers at the VMU Social and Political Critique Center who have launched a new podcast series in September called “Freely and Critically“, are excited to present an updated format as from now on, the podcast will be available in English and Russian languages.
According to the creators, the podcast “Freely and Critically” is created with the intention to discuss issues that are relevant, acute and sensitive to the public, and to discuss them freely but critically.
The hosts of the podcast, Assoc. Prof. Tomas Kavaliauskas and Prof. Gintautas Mažeikis, teachers of the VMU Master study program of Social and Political Critique, interview various experts in their field. Previous episodes of the podcast include interviews and discussions with academics and representatives of the cultural world: a discussion with VMU Professor Dalia Leinartė on women’s rights and the Istanbul Convention; interviews with two representatives of the VMU Faculty of Political science and Diplomacy, namely with Professor Mindaugas Jurkynas (on the relations between Russia and Belarus) and Professor Lauras Bielinis (on the left-wing politics in Lithuania), as well as discussions with Virginija Vitkienė, the Head of Kaunas 2022, and Vytautas Valentinavičius, the Head of the Human Rights Division of the Seimas Ombudsmen’s Office and PhD student in political science at KTU.
