VMU Strongly Supports Georgia’s Fight for the European Path

Vytautas Magnus University would like to express a stern stance and deep concern about the situation in Georgia. We strongly support the people and academic community of Georgia in their just and well-grounded fight for the European path, freedom and democracy.

We deeply regret and disapprove of the current Georgian government’s decision to suspend the EU accession negotiations and to unleash the inhumane actions and hostility on peaceful citizens of Georgia who pursue their fair right to free will, choice and justice. We hope that the international community will not hesitate in supporting the efforts of the freedom seeking nation as does Lithuania.

We express our unwavering support for the Georgian people and their aspirations for a European future.
