VMU Rector’s Greetings on International Students’ Day

236

Dear students of Vytautas Magnus University,

Today we are marking the International Students’ Day. It is a day for you to celebrate and take pride in yourselves: you are STUDENTS, because you have made the right decisions, you have been persistent, you have set goals for yourselves, and you pursue them while embarking on paths that are not always easy. There is a good reason why the Latin word studens (student) is translated as meaning “hard working”: only hard work leads to the desired results.

It is my sincere wish for you to remain students all of your lives: after finishing your studies at an institution of education, may you be the students at the university of life. May you keep learning, improving, and examining the world, its colours and patterns. May you develop strong relationships and fulfil worthwhile aspirations. Best of luck to your aims and ideas.

VMU Rector Prof. Juozas Augutis
