VMU Presents New Image Video

Vytautas Magnus University, member of the Transform4Europe Alliance of European universities, presents a new video which invites everyone to rearrange the accents and commas in the university‘s everyday life. This video is an invitation to look at science from a human perspective and a reminder that the greatest value is generated not by buildings but by the people you meet in the university’s halls every day. VMU is all about humanity, respect, and sensitivity towards another.

The community’s heartbeat cannot be artificially stimulated. It is a feeling which is born when the conditions are created for it. It greets you as soon as you cross the threshold. The students, the teachers, and the administrative staff – each and every one of us is an important part of the university. The video includes an appearance by and was narrated by Rūta Meilutytė: VMU student, multiple-time Lithuanian, European, and world women’s swimming record holder and champion. Her words convey an invitation to believe in oneself and create a sense of fulfilment in the community and the relationship with one another.

During this time of unease, it is more important than ever to remember that each of us can be strong both as an individual and as a member of the community. Support, friendship and a sense of community is what helps us defeat challenges and continue our journey, even when the circumstances seem particularly complicated.

This video invites us to look one another in the eye and say: “I will succeed”, but more importantly: to say it to others. One person can change the lives of those around them, and the community can change the face of the entire world. VMU is not just an institution of research and studies, it is a place where everyone is welcome to grow and be a part of something much larger than ourselves.
