In a ceremony at the Embassy of Lithuania in Kyiv on 6 August, diplomas were awarded to Ukrainian graduates of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) who completed their studies remotely and did not come to Kaunas to receive their diplomas.

This year, fourteen Ukrainian graduates received their VMU diplomas by mail. One of them was also sent a badge of Vytautas Magnus University. The graduates were awarded the diplomas by the Ambassador of Lithuania in Ukraine Valdemaras Sarapinas. The ceremony was also attended remotely by the VMU Vice-Rector for Communication Assoc. Prof. Vilma Bijeikienė.

The latest graduates from Ukraine completed studies in the VMU faculties of Informatics, Natural Sciences, Political Sciences and Diplomacy, and Arts.

Vytautas Magnus University continues its long-running initiative dedicated to cooperation with the Eastern Partnership countries. VMU frequently signs memorandums of understanding with universities of Ukraine which establish active cooperation and shares expertise on distance learning. In March, the Centre of Baltic Studies was opened at Taras Shevchenko University in Kyiv, which aims to strengthen bilateral relations between Lithuania and Ukraine in the field of the humanities.
