Unity and Solidarity Action “Freedom Shines” to Support Ukraine
In February 2014, candles were lit in front of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania to commemorate the Heavenly Maidan Centenary, and bonfires of solidarity were lit. Today, as then, it is particularly important to stand together with Ukraine. That is why on 24 February, from 6 pm onwards, the unity and solidarity action “Freedom Shines” will take place.
Kaunas University Students’ Councils, Kaunas City Municipality and “Kaunas 2022” invite you to stand in solidarity and support Ukrainians in this difficult time.
All Kaunas residents and visitors are invited to gather at 6pm in Unity Square, where we will sing the Ukrainian national anthem, light the lights and hear a presentation by VMU professor Gintautas Mažeikis on the situation in Ukraine.
Who else, if not us, when, if not now. You are welcome to bring your national decorations and flashlights. Because we will shine!

У лютому 2014 року біля Сейму Литовської Республіки горіли свічки пам‘яті Небесної Сотні, палали вогнища солідарності.
У ці дні, як і тоді, особливо важливо бути разом з Україною.
Тому 24 лютого о 18.00 відбудеться акція єдності та солідарності «Світло свободи».
Студентські ради університетів Каунаса, міська рада Каунаса та Kaunas 2022 запрошують вас бути солідарними та підтримати українців у цей непростий час.
Усі мешканці та гості Каунаса запрошуються зібратися о 18:00 на площі Єдності, де ми заспіваємо гімн України, запалимо вогні та послухаємо доповідь професора VDU Гінтаутаса Мажейкіса про ситуацію в Україні.
Хто, якщо не ми? Коли, якщо не зараз? Візьміть з собою державну атрибутику та ліхтарики. Адже ми будемо світлом!
