Time for Asia: Lecture on Korea by H.E. Mira Sun

VMU Centre for Asian Studies continues its Time for Asia events. On 4 March, open lecture will be held by the newly appointed South Korea’s ambassador to Lithuania H.E. Mira Sun. In the lecture, titled Lithuania-Korea Relations and Peace Process on the Korean Peninsula, the Ambassador will talk not only about Lithuania-Korea relations but also about the ongoing tensions and recent attempts to achieve peace and stability in the Korean peninsula.
Before pursuing a diplomatic career, H. E. Mira Sun worked as a human rights lawyer. She specializes in the fields of civil society, international relations in East Asia, resolution of historical tensions between Korea and Japan, and other areas. It will be the Ambassador’s first visit in Kaunas and her first lecture given in Lithuania. H.E. Mira Sun will also participate in the opening of the VMU Asian Week and will visit the Centre for Asian Studies and King Sejong Institute Kaunas.
The lecture will be held on Monday 4 March, 10 a.m., at VMU Centre for Research and Studies (V. Putvinskio g. 23, Room 310, Kaunas). The lecture will be held in English and is free and open to everyone.
Time for Asia is a series of events organised by VMU Centre for Asian Studies which is dedicated to contemporary issues and topics in the fields of Asian politics, society and economics.
