The Second COREnet Management Committee Meeting Held in Kaunas

290

The second meeting of the COREnet Management Committee and Working Groups took place in Kaunas, Lithuania, on 27–28 June, and was the first live meeting of both the Management Committee and Working Groups. For three days, COREnet members – researchers on religion and migration – presented the work done so far in the first year of the Action and discussed the next steps.

The meeting was complemented by a lecture on religion and migration during the war by one of the members of the Action, Dr. Olena Panych, historian of religion. This lecture gave a deeper insight of how the war in Ukraine enforces migration and influences religious identities.

This meeting took place at the Action’s Grant Holder institution, Vytautas Magnus University.

The COST Action – “Connecting Theory and Practical Issues of Migration and Religious Diversity” (COREnet) – is an interdisciplinary network that aims to produce, exchange and build knowledge and collaborations across Europe on the topic of migration and religious diversity. Specifically, COREnet focuses on combining theoretical and practical issues at the intersection of migration and religious diversity with a particular emphasis on bottom-up research.

COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) is a funding agency for research and innovation networks. Our Actions help connect research initiatives across Europe and enable scientists to grow their ideas by sharing them with their peers. This boosts their research, career and innovation.
