Season’s Greetings to VMU Community from the Rector

1038

Dear community of Vytautas Magnus University,

I came across a question recently: “Is time travel possible?”. Well, isn’t time travel exactly what we do? There are some hard times, but then they pass and the better ones come. This is how the most beautiful time of the year comes, too – Christmas and New Year.

Just like every year, we look at these turning points with hope and slight trepidation. It seems right to take a look back at the events of the past 12 months. Some of them may have been challenging, but it also was a landmark year for the community of Vytautas Magnus University. On 1 January 2019, we will be joined by the Lithuanian University of Education Science and Aleksandras Stulginskis University, subsequently becoming a single, united university.

My wish to everyone and myself is that the upcoming 2019 would be defined by the spirit of camaraderie and acceptance. This year has shown that relationships, be they among colleagues or friends, have the greatest value of all. May they be our shared mission for the approaching year.

I hope that your hearts and your homes are never short of the pure joy of life. Let’s take notice of the people around us, our friends, colleagues, loved ones, the nature and our surroundings, the places where we work every day on making our dreams come true.

May the sense of unity follow you throughout the entire 2019, a year filled with important occasions, and may your kindness inspire good and meaningful deeds.

Have a wonderful holiday and a Happy New Year!

VMU Rector Juozas Augutis
