QS Rankings: VMU Among the Top 100 Universities in Northern Europe

In the latest QS Europe University Rankings, Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) has again demonstrated strong results: rising from 284th to 267th place in the overall rankings, and from 105th to 99th place in Northern Europe. A total of 685 higher education institutions across Europe were evaluated.
VMU excelled particularly in the Faculty Student Ratio category, securing the seventh position across Europe. It also ranked 43rd in the Inbound Exchange Students category and 152nd in the International Student Diversity category.
VMU was also rated highly in the Employer Reputation category (175th place in Europe) and the Outbound Exchange Students category (165th place). The University was ranked 251+ in the Academic Reputation category, 287+ in the International Faculty Ratio category, and 301+ in the remaining categories.
VMU made its most significant leap in the Employment Outcomes category, scoring 37.4 points this year (compared to 20.2 last year). The University also saw a substantial rise in the International Research Network category, scoring 20.9 points this year, up from 11.9 points last year. Impressively, VMU also advanced in sustainable development and sustainability, scoring 19.5 points this year compared to 7.2 last year, and in the International Faculty Ratio category, achieving 18.3 points this year, up from 7.4 last year.

Compared with other Lithuanian universities, VMU ranked first in four categories. As in last year’s ranking, the University maintained first place in terms of faculty-student Ratio. VMU rose from fifth to first place in the average number of citations per scientific publication, from fourth to first in the ratio of international faculty, and from second to first in international student diversity.
VMU was ranked second among the country’s universities in the categories of Academic Reputation (up from third last year) and Papers per Faculty (up from sixth last year). VMU was ranked third in terms of Employer Reputation, Inbound Exchange Students, and International Research Network.
This QS ranking evaluated European universities across four categories: Research and Discovery, Employability and Outcomes, Learning Experience, and Global Engagement and Sustainability.
