VMU to host International Scientific Conference on Rural Development

Greetings to VMU Graduates
Due to the global situation of COVID-19, the annual VMU diploma award ceremony has been moved to June 2021 hoping that the new graduates will be able to share the joy of this special occasion lively with all participants of the celebration and warmly say goodbye to their Alma Mater.

Transform4Europe European University Alliance Held a Kick-Off Meeting
On 26 January, Transform4Europe (T4E), an alliance of VMU and six other European universities that was officially recognized by the European Commission last year as a ‘European University’, held a virtual kick-off meeting at which it showcased its activities to the participating universities and the alliance’s external partners in the different European regions. The alliance's ambitious goals were discussed: joint study programmes, initiatives and exchange aimed at educating a new generation of Europeans who collaborate to acquire digital, intercultural and entrepreneurial knowledge and skills.

Student Registration into Study Subjects of 2021 Spring Semester
Registration into study subjects, seminars, and laboratory works starts on 25 January 2021. The registration will be performed online only, having connected to VMU Students’ Self-service Portal, except for Education Academy students, accepted before 2017 for studies organized in Vilnius.

Bronze Memorial Plaque Gifted by Latvia’s Students Returned to VMU
In 1932, when VMU celebrated its 10th birthday, it received a special gift from Latvian students: a bronze memorial plaque with a Latvian inscription: “Mūs vienuo kuopėjs gars un vienas asinis” (“We are united by common spirit and one blood”). Even though this plaque was lost during World War II, last autumn a lucky coincidence brought it back to its rightful place: to VMU. According to one of the organizers of the search, the founder of VMU Centre of Letonics, Prof. Dr. Alvydas Butkus, maintaining a friendship between the two Balt nations is very important.

Nominal Scholarships of I. Bielevičius were Awarded to VMU Students
Mr. Ignas Bielevičius, a graduate of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU), Faculty of Informatics, who graduated from his Bachelor’s studies in 2009, has established two nominal, annual scholarships of 500 EUR for students of VMU. The purpose of these scholarships is to financially encourage students for their good study results and active participation in scientific and / or social activities.
