A Person’s Career is Determined by Hard Work, Not Special Effects
“Nearly 15 years ago, when our students attempted to gain entry into the most prestigious music conservatories in Austria, Germany, and Italy, hoping to learn from Europe’s best music professors, they were often politely told that there were no more places available. Now, professors from those same schools come to our Academy to teach master classes to our top students. We are no longer on the periphery; quite the opposite, we are recognised and valued by European musicians,” says Professor Saulius Gerulis, Dean of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) Music Academy.

VMU Prof. Levandauskas Awarded by the President of Lithuania
On the occasion of July 6th – Statehood Day (coronation of King Mindaugas of Lithuania) and National Anthem Day – the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda, awarded state orders and medals to Lithuanian and foreign nationals for their merits to the Republic of Lithuania and for promoting its name worldwide. Among the awardees was Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) Faculty of Arts Professor Vytautas Levandauskas, an architectural historian and art historian.

VMU Sports Centre Invites You to Stay Active this Summer
We would like to inform all members of the Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) community who actively spend their free time and work out in the VMU Sports Centre Fitness Hall (located at Studentų g. 11, Akademija, Kaunas district), or who would like to start doing so, that the Fitness Hall’s opening hours will change from June 25 to September 2.

VMU Athletes Won 52 Medals at the SELL Student Games
One of the largest student sports events in the Baltic States, the 39th SELL Student Games, this year took place in Kaunas, as well as, at the sports venues of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU). Over 1,300 student athletes from 10 countries (Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Italy, Slovakia, and Romania) and 36 higher education institutions participated in the sporting event, which was held from May 16-19. The haul of VMU athletes was impressive: 52 medals.

Free Film Screening “20 Days in Mariupol” to Take Place at VMU
On the 24th of May Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) will host a meeting with Ukrainian Ambassador in Lithuania Petro Beshta. He will have an informal discussion with Ukrainian youth studying at VMU and other Lithuanian universities. The discussion will be followed by the film screening "20 Days in Mariupol".

VMU Athletes to Compete in SELL Games
One of the biggest student sports events in the Baltic States, the 39th SELL Student Games, starts this week, from May 16-19. Over 1,300 participants from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Italy, Slovakia, and Romania are expected in Kaunas this weekend, representing 36 universities. The games will take place at the sports facilities of Lithuanian Sport University, Kaunas University of Technology, Vytautas Magnus University, Žalgiris Arena swimming pool, Birštonas Sports Centre stadium, and Boulder House climbing centre.
