Indonesian students are amazed by the beauty of Lithuania
Starting in 2021, Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) has entered into very important cooperation with Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) programme. In 2023 IISMA has 67 partners in 25 countries with 1150 Awardees. VMU is the only university in Lithuania that has entered this unique cooperation framework.

Ukrainian students feel at home at VMU
Since the outbreak of the full-scale war in Ukraine, Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) has welcomed more than three hundred Ukrainian students and, on the initiative of the First Ladies of Lithuania and Ukraine, Diana Nausėdienė and Olena Zelenska, opened the Centre of Ukraine, a humanitarian and educational space established in the premises of VMU Education Academy in Vilnius. The Centre has already been visited by more than 24,000 Ukrainians. Ukrainians studying at VMU actively participate in community activities, volunteer at the Centre of Ukraine, and firmly believe that the experience gained at the University will aid them in rebuilding their homeland.
Internship in Tenerife – A Lifetime Journey and Enriching Experience
“If you haven’t gone abroad during your studies, it’s your biggest mistake. An internship abroad can become the journey of a lifetime. It’s absolutely essential,” says Agnė Staupelytė, who studied in Finland under the Erasmus+ programme and also undertook internships in Vilnius and Tenerife. Next year, the third-year student of Pedagogy of Primary Education and Early Foreign Language Teaching at VMU Education Academy is set to undertake an internship in Tokyo, Japan.
VMU Staff Week: Fostering Global Collaboration and Knowledge Exchange
On April 24-28, the International Cooperation Department of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) organized an international Staff Week, which was attended by 140 teachers and non-academic staff from 43 countries who came to VMU under the Erasmus+ mobility programme.
