The Student Survey “Teaching and Learning Evaluation” is Underway
At the end of each semester, all students of bachelor, master, integrated and professional studies are invited to share their opinion about teachers’ and their own work during the study courses. The Spring semester survey has started at University, and it will be open until the 14th of June.

Ambassador of Netherlands Held Lecture on Human Rights and Security
“Human rights and security are not opposites, they complement each other. You can have no true human dignity and consideration of human rights without security. [But] you can’t have your cake and eat it too – something needs to go. The legal framework may be extremely solid, but in real life, events happen where you have to make choices and compromises that do not adhere to human rights standards. In some situations, human rights treaties are not aligned with certain security interests,” says the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Lithuania, Jack Robert Twiss Quarles Van Ufford, who gave a lecture at Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) on the challenges of ensuring human rights and security.

Social Work – Vocation and Profession Vital to the Country
“Social work is going through a period of upswing. COVID-19 has shown that the profession is essential to the vital functions of the state – there is not a single person left who doubts this. In the past, we used to talk only about teachers and doctors, and almost never about social workers. I think the situation is changing now. I would like as many people as possible to choose this profession – not just because you need to enrol somewhere, but to make it both a respectable profession and a profession that is strongly driven by vocation,” emphasising the importance of social work studies says the Minister of Social Security and Labour of the Republic of Lithuania Monika Navickenė, who during her visit to Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) discussed the changes in social policy in Lithuania.
