VMU commended by the Office of the Equal Opportunities Ombudsperson

In October 2023, Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) received the highest evaluation – three Equal Opportunity Wings – from the Office of the Equal Opportunities Ombudsperson for its achievements in mainstreaming equal opportunities at the University. This means that the University is committed to ensuring equal opportunities for all members of the community, aiming to enhance not only the quality and outcomes of research and studies but also the conditions of study and work.

Open Dual Lecture on Dissonant Heritage

On 17 October, 5 p.m. (EEST), the Estonian Academy of Arts (EAA) is organising an open conversation/lecture with two speakers: VMU Assoc. Prof. Dr. Linara Dovydaitytė and EAA doctoral student and junior researcher Anu Soojärv. The lecture, titled Dissonant Heritage: Re-evaluating the Soviet Legacies, will focus on the heritage of Soviet legacies. The event will be streamed online.

VMU Faculty of Law to open exhibitions to mark the Baltic Way

VMU Faculty of Law organizes three exhibitions to mark the Baltic Way – an important historical event of the unity of nations and the path to democracy. The exhibitions, which will be displayed throughout the months of October-March, are organized implementing the EU project „Remember Bacha“ which seeks to scientifically analyse the work of outstanding citizens in the fight against totalitarianism, as an example of Europeanism and intensive work for a better society, a memory of the fight for freedom and a balanced society.
