QS Rankings: VMU Among the Top 100 Universities in Northern Europe
In the latest QS Europe University Rankings, Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) has again demonstrated strong results: rising from 284th to 267th place in the overall rankings, and from 105th to 99th place in Northern Europe. A total of 685 higher education institutions across Europe were evaluated.
International Exchange – A Gateway to New Career Opportunities
“The opportunity to study abroad for a semester in the country of my choice through the Erasmus+ international exchange programme, even while enrolled in an online study programme, was the main reason I chose to study at Vytautas Magnus University,” says Alisa Rūta Stravinskaitė, an alumna of the Comparative Cultural Studies programme at Vytautas Magnus University (VMU).
VMU Foreign Visiting Teachers on Feeling Homesick for Lithuania
"When I first visited Lithuania, I felt mysteriously at home in the country. A few years later I presented a conference paper about it, entitled "How can I feel homesick for a place I have never been to before?". And when I was invited to give a lecture at VMU a couple of years later, I was delighted", Ullrich Kockel, Professor of Creative Ethnology at the Institute for Northern Studies of the University of Highlands and Islands, says.

“Nearly 15 years ago, when our students attempted to gain entry into the most prestigious music conservatories in Austria, Germany, and Italy, hoping to learn from Europe’s best music professors, they were often politely told that there were no more places available. Now, professors from those same schools come to our Academy to teach master classes to our top students. VMU Prof. Levandauskas Awarded by the President of Lithuania
On the occasion of July 6th – Statehood Day (coronation of King Mindaugas of Lithuania) and National Anthem Day – the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda, awarded state orders and medals to Lithuanian and foreign nationals for their merits to the Republic of Lithuania and for promoting its name worldwide. Among the awardees was Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) Faculty of Arts Professor Vytautas Levandauskas, an architectural historian and art historian.

Opportunity to Apply for an Internship in Lithuania
VMU Department of International Relations invites foreign students and graduates of full-time studies to apply for internships in Lithuanian market. The main aim of the internship is to provide an opportunity for foreign VMU students and graduates to acquire practical skills in Lithuanian companies and organisations. The internship will contribute to the development of professional knowledge and skills, help to improve Lithuanian language, provide an opportunity to gain valuable work experience and help to establish professional contacts, thus increasing the chances of employment and successful integration into the Lithuanian labour market.

Nelli Yeghiazaryan, a Master's student in the Future Media and Journalism programme from Armenia, participated in the Internships for International Full-time students in Lithuania, which began earlier this year and which allows foreign students and graduates of full-time studies to apply for internships in the Lithuanian market.
Studies in Mauritius – an Island Where Various Traditions Blend
“The culture of Mauritius is unique and rich, combining African, Indian, European, and Chinese traditions. It was a strange experience to live in a country where so many different cultures and beliefs coexist,” says Jacinta Vaičekauskaitė, a VMU student who studied in Mauritius through the Erasmus+ exchange programme.
