“When I go to study abroad with Erasmus, I understand that no one knows about my achievements, no one knows who I am, what knowledge I have. So you have to prove what you know. That’s interesting – it’s another opportunity to look at yourself from a different angle,” says Palina Salei, an English Philology student at VMU, who spent a semester studying at the University of Alicante in Spain as part of an Erasmus+ exchange programme.

Exchange Studies in Japan has Opened up New Perspectives
“I’m probably the only one from my town who has gone to an East Asian country on my own,” laughs Gražvydas Stanevičius, a third-year student at Vytautas Magnus University (VMU), who spent half a year in Japan as part of an exchange programme. He returned home not only having improved his Japanese language skills and made friends with people from all over the world, but also with a dream to visit Japan again and start his career there.

In the latest QS World University Rankings, Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) has significantly improved and maintained high scores, particularly in the field of internationalisation, where VMU remains the leader in Lithuania in terms of the ratio of international students and faculty. Moreover, regarding total points amongst the five ranked Lithuanian universities, VMU has moved up from fourth to second place.

Disability Forum: Inclusive Higher Education Was Held for the 3rd Time
On May 22, Vytautas Magnus University, as part of the implementation of its Disability Policy of the University of Inclusive Opportunities, organized the third Disability Forum: Inclusive Higher Education 2024. The event, which has now become a tradition, was attended by Lithuanian higher education experts experienced in creating reasonable accommodation and increasing the accessibility of higher education for persons with various disabilities or individual needs.
