Free Lithuanian Student Card for VMU First-Year Students
Lithuanian student card (LSP) is the only official document in Lithuania that proves the status of a student. The price of the card varies from 6 to 20 euros, depending on the degree. However, this year, at the initiative of Vytautas Magnus University Student Representatives (VMU SR), all 2020 freshmen who have signed their study agreement with VMU will receive the LSP free of charge.

VMU Continues Initiative Dedicated to Eastern Partnership Countries
After the first stage of general admission to university studies, VMU has accepted about 20 Belarusian students to its special MA program Administration of State Institutions. A sizable number of students from Belarus have also applied for other VMU study programs. The decision to launch a program where Belorussian citizens could study was made back in March, after discussing potential developments in the neighbouring nation. The studies will be free of charge for all students; special scholarships have been established for them.

VMU Rector’s Letter to the Community
I would like to thank you all once again for the invaluable contributions you made while working during the difficult period brought about by COVID-19. Ensuring the quality of studies and research under the conditions of the new reality and supporting the community in the virtual world has been a challenge which has demanded a lot of effort from all of us. The beginning of the upcoming academic year will not be as it used to be before. Thus, once again, we will all need to be focused to make sure it is successful.

Information about COVID-19
In order to prevent the emergence of COVID-19 and its possible spread in Lithuania, VMU calls on its community to be public-spirited and socially responsible, to carry out all actions specified by the National Public Health Center under the Ministry of Health, and to keep up-to-date with information about the virus and its prevention.

VMU basketball team took second place in the „Bucket Summer League“
On July 27 – August 5 the “Bucket Summer League” tournament was taking place in Kėdainiai, where eight teams were played, including basketball players of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU). In the tournament, the VMU team received the help of Donatas Sabeckis, Vytenis Čižauskas, Paulius Sorokas, Regimantas Miniotas, Adomas Drungilas, Rolandas Jakštas, Aurimas Urbonas and Justas Tamulis.

At the International Conference – Solutions for Rural Development
12th international scientific conference “Accounting and Finance: Innovative Solutions for Sustainable Bioeconomy and Rural Development” will be held online on 19-20th of November 2020. The conference is organised by Faculty of Bioeconomy Development of VMU Agriculture Academy.

Seven European Universities Merge to Form a “European University”
The alliance “Transform4Europe – T4E” has been endorsed by the European Commission as part of the alliances selected in the second call of the European Universities Initiative 2020. It brings together seven European universities that will strive to create one joint sustainable European University with joint governance and service structures.

VMU Announces a Competition for the Position of Rector
The Council of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) announces an open international competition to fill the position of Rector of the University.
Application for Accommodation for New Incoming Students of 2020/2021
Vytautas Magnus University has opened an application for new incoming international students for accommodation in the dormitories of VMU during the academic year 2020/2021 or Autumn semester.
