5th Leonidas Donskis Conference will take place in Vilnius

1025

The Fifth Leonidas Donskis Conference will take place on 20-21 September and will focus on the issues of collective trauma that deeply influence society and politics today. We will be looking at fresh trauma’s, created recently or at this very moment, on older trauma that have not yet been digested and at traumas of the past that still influence our thinking and actions.

A wide range of internationally renowned speakers will present their views and engage with each other and the public to further our understanding of the long-term effects, how we can learn from the past and how we can seek closure and move on. In light of the current political crisis in Europe and the ongoing war in Ukraine this topic is more actual than ever.

On the eve of the conference we will hold the Fifth Leonidas Donskis Memorial Concert, in memory of this great Lithuanian scholar, politician, and public figure, who died in 2016 and would have turned 60 this year.

The well-known Lithuanian ensemble “Lietuva” will be performing in the Renaissance Hall of the Palace of the Grand Dukes, followed by a reception in his memory.
